About The Position

The Microbiology Associate Sample Prep Tech learns to perform sample preparation tasks that ensure sample homogeneity, including labeling, transferring, using liquid nitrogen, milling, blending, weighing, and disposing of samples. The role also involves learning to communicate sample information, report discrepancies to appropriate personnel, and handle internal customer inquiries and requests. Other related duties may be assigned. The position is based at the Eurofins Food Chemistry Madison laboratory in Madison, Wisconsin. Work includes potential exposure to food allergens and hazardous waste, use of personal protective equipment, and possible work in walk-in cold storage units. The employee receives on-the-job training for handling waste types specific to their work area. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Working knowledge of computers.
Customer service skills, including attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and communication skills.
Ability to identify and communicate customer service needs.
Ability to learn new tasks.
Ability to think critically and solve problems quickly and efficiently.
Reside within a commutable distance to the Madison, Wisconsin laboratory.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for short periods.
Meet mandatory immunization and screening requirements as required.
