Microbiology Sample Prep Technician Position!
About The Position
Doctor's Data, Inc. is hiring a Microbiology Sample Prep Technician for a day-shift role in a clinical laboratory setting. The technician prepares culture plates and slides for microbiology and tubes and slides for parasitology, and works with biological samples. The role requires following written standard operating procedures and quality control policies, maintaining accurate sample-to-test matching and orderly sample setup, and keeping the work area clean and organized. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, including a Saturday rotation. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in biology, clinical science, or laboratory science.
- Ability to work the scheduled shift: 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, including a Saturday rotation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare culture plates and slides for microbiology and tubes and slides for parasitology.
- Work with biological samples in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Maintain sequential order, proper sample-to-test matching, and transport media identification for patient tests being set up.
- Follow written standard operating procedures and quality control policies.
- Communicate production issues promptly to the department manager or team leader.
- Demonstrate flexibility and a professional demeanor in a demanding work environment.
- Use work-related chemicals and disinfectant solutions properly and safely.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Communicate inventory needs to the department manager.
