Technical Marketing Associate – Sample Prep
About The Position
Zymo Research is seeking a highly motivated Technical Marketing Associate to join its DNA Purification Department. Working closely with the commercialization manager, research staff, and marketing team, the associate will develop promotional and technical content for DNA purification products and help plan and execute marketing campaigns. The role involves translating scientific topics into customer-facing materials and contributing to product and brand awareness, lead acquisition, sales, business development, and product training. The position is full-time and onsite at Zymo Research Operations in Tustin, California.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field.
- At least one year of work experience in the life science field in an academic or industrial setting.
- Scientific background, particularly in biochemistry, genomics, molecular biology, and cell biology.
- Well-developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to establish effective relationships with diverse people inside and outside the company.
- Open, customer-focused communication style.
- Ability to plan, develop, create, and execute marketing campaigns and materials on technical topics.
- Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team, contribute original ideas, and communicate effectively with colleagues and upper management.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in nucleic acid purification, transformation, transfection, cloning, PCR, and sequencing.
- Prior work experience in sales or marketing.
Responsibilities
- Write original copy for digital and print marketing collateral.
- Create technical figures and tables for customer-facing content.
- Contribute to technical seminars, white papers, application notes, videos, and posters.
- Review and summarize scientific literature to support technical content development.
- Assist the marketing team with art design and promotional material layout.
- Occasionally perform wet-lab experiments to support marketing campaigns.
- Provide peer review and oversight to ensure content accuracy and quality.
- Help develop compelling, differentiating value propositions, positioning, and messaging at the solution, product, and segment levels.
- Assist with campaign execution across email, online, social, and mail channels.
- Coordinate and communicate with external partners on marketing initiatives.
- Track results, review analytics, and report the ROI of marketing activities.
