About The Position

As a Mia Italian Clerk at Hy-Vee, you’ll support a department that provides fresh food to customers. You will take orders, prepare ingredients and products, keep the department stocked, and maintain a clean work area. The role suits someone who enjoys working with food, can thrive in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in doing things correctly. Prior experience is not required; training and support are provided.

Requirements

Follow written and verbal instructions.
Use basic math for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording.
Communicate clearly and helpfully with customers and teammates.
Stay organized and keep up with a busy department.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Complete a pre-employment drug screen successfully; employment is contingent upon completion.

Nice To Haves

Up to six months of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide friendly customer service and help make each visit positive.
Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, help customers find products, and answer questions.
Prepare pizza toppings, pizza dough, breadsticks, and other products as needed.
Pre-bake pizza crusts and ensure an adequate supply of products is available.
Monitor freshness, rotate and replenish the cold case, and remove products past their date.
Receive products, verify orders, and place items in appropriate storage areas.
Operate the department register and process payments where applicable.
Follow sanitation procedures and keep the work area clean and organized.
Remove trash promptly and maintain a tidy department.
Work with teammates to provide customers with a smooth, positive experience.
Follow Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and company policies.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed.
