About The Position
Xcel Energy is seeking a Temporary Meter Reader in Grand Junction, Colorado. The role reads residential and commercial gas and electric meters and records information using a handheld computer system. It involves approximately 10–12 miles of fast-paced walking per day, entering customer premises, and working across varied terrain and around animals. The position also involves exposure to inclement weather and requires flexibility, teamwork, and a strong commitment to safety. The temporary position may lead to permanent benefited employment after the first six months.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to walk 10–12 miles per day.
- Previous customer service experience.
- High level of accuracy and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Valid driver's license.
