About The Position

Bell Nursery is hiring a part-time Merchandiser for the garden season, typically February through October. The role involves outdoor, physically active work caring for plants, flowers, and landscaping goods in major garden centers. Merchandisers use hands-on effort and creativity to create attractive plant displays and merchandise layouts. Free T-shirts and on-the-job training are provided, and the role is part of a team that values sustainability.

Requirements

Enjoy working outdoors, being active, and doing physical work.
Be comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, sometimes variable environment.
Be reliable, alert, safety-conscious, and have good problem-solving skills.
Be comfortable using a smartphone to manage payroll and inventory apps and communicating by text, email, or phone.
Undergo screening for prohibited levels of drugs before beginning employment.

Nice To Haves

Ability to work weekends is strongly preferred.
Access to dependable private or public transportation.

Responsibilities

Unload, move, and stock live-goods shipments manually or with assistance.
Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and push or pull carts weighing up to approximately 100 pounds.
Execute merchandising and display plans (plan-o-grams), including setting promotional ads.
Maintain accurate inventory, monitor watering and sustainability standards, and care for live goods.
Communicate daily with store and Bell Nursery leadership about execution and store status.
Provide basic customer service when needed.
