About The Position

Bell Nursery is hiring a part-time Merchandiser for the garden season, typically February through October. The role involves working outdoors in major garden centers to care for plants, flowers, and landscaping goods, stock merchandise, and create attractive plant displays. It is physically engaging and includes moving live-goods shipments, maintaining inventory and plant-care standards, and communicating with store and nursery leadership. On-the-job training and free T-shirts are provided.

Requirements

Enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and doing physical work.
Be comfortable working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced, sometimes variable environment.
Be reliable, alert, safety-conscious, and have good problem-solving skills.
Have dependable transportation, private or public.
Be comfortable using a smartphone for payroll and inventory apps and communicating by text, email, or phone.
Undergo screening for prohibited levels of drugs before beginning employment.

Availability to work weekends is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Unload, move, and stock live-goods shipments, manually or with assistance.
Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and push or pull carts weighing up to approximately 100 pounds.
Execute merchandising and display plans (plan-o-grams), including setting promotional ads.
Maintain accurate inventory and monitor watering and sustainability standards to ensure live goods are cared for.
Communicate daily with store and Bell Nursery leadership about execution and store status.
Provide basic customer service when needed.
