As a Merchandiser, you work independently in the Hallmark departments of assigned retail stores, using organization and time-management skills to showcase products and build relationships with retailer teams. You collaborate with local store teams to optimize product placement and maintain inventory, and may support coworkers with seasonal resets and installations. The role may occasionally involve products from other companies in the stores you service. This part-time role averages 20–22 hours per week, with a variable schedule during the work week. Work includes day-to-day merchandising, seasonal holiday support, department resets and installations, and assisting other merchandisers in their territories as needed. Additional days and extended hours may be required around major holidays and for seasonal changeovers, extended services, installations, and inventory support. Some holiday work may fall on weekends or the holiday itself, and remodel assignments may include evenings or weekends. Paid training is provided through live, hands-on instruction and virtual classroom training. The job is physically demanding and involves working on retail sales floors and in back stockrooms. Employees must regularly push, pull, lift, and carry cartons, merchandise, and display fixtures, as well as kneel, squat, walk, and stand; climbing stairs and step ladders may also be required.
