About The Position

The Merchandiser places and maintains products in assigned store accounts. The work includes stocking shelves and coolers, rotating products, setting up displays, organizing backroom storage, and moving products from storage to the sales floor. The role also involves maintaining orderly backroom areas, presenting merchandise to support sales, and building customer relationships at the store level. The scheduled hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday in Fairbury, Nebraska. Work generally takes place in a store setting. The employee must be able to operate a tablet or PC, a two-wheel dolly, and a pallet jack. The job involves frequent walking and reaching, constant lifting of 20 or more pounds, and other physical activities at varying frequencies.

Requirements

Sufficient formal or informal education to read and write at the level required for successful job performance.
A valid driver's license and the required level of insurance coverage, except for individuals aged 16 or 17 who report to a single account.
Reliable transportation to and from accounts.
A valid pallet jack and/or forklift certification where necessary.
Knowledge of general merchandising.
Knowledge of customer service principles and processes.
Basic knowledge of computers and tablets.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
Ability to pay attention to detail.
Ability to perform miscellaneous job functions within a scheduled timeframe.
Ability to be flexible and adaptable in supporting the team to achieve company goals.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holiday hours; this is not required for individuals aged 16 or 17 who report to a single account.

Responsibilities

Merchandise store shelving, coolers, and displays with products in assigned accounts.
Rotate products in the backroom and on shelves.
Transport products between the backroom and shelf locations.
Maintain orderly backroom and back-stock areas.
Keep merchandise displayed in a manner calculated to increase sales.
Build customer relationships at the store level.
Communicate with the customer upon arrival at and departure from the store.
Perform other duties as necessary.
