About The Position

The Merchandiser stocks and merchandises products in assigned accounts, including store shelves, coolers, and displays. The role involves rotating products, moving items from backroom storage to sales-floor locations, maintaining orderly backroom areas, and arranging merchandise to support sales. The Merchandiser also builds customer relationships at the store level, communicates with customers upon arrival and departure, and performs other duties as necessary. Work generally takes place in a store setting. The position requires use of a tablet or PC, a two-wheel dolly, and a pallet jack. The listed schedule is 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The position is located in Fairbury, Nebraska.

Requirements

Sufficient formal or informal education to read and write at a level required for successful job performance.
A valid driver's license and the required level of insurance coverage, except for individuals aged 16 or 17 who report to a single account.
Reliable transportation to and from accounts.
A valid pallet jack and/or forklift certification where necessary.
Knowledge of general merchandising.
Knowledge of customer-service principles and processes.
Basic knowledge of computers and tablets.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to perform miscellaneous job functions within a scheduled timeframe.
Flexibility and adaptability to support the team in achieving company goals.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holiday hours.

Responsibilities

Merchandise store shelving, coolers, and displays with products in assigned accounts.
Rotate products in the backroom and on the shelf.
Transport products from the backroom to shelf locations and back as needed.
Maintain backroom and back-stock areas in an orderly fashion.
Display merchandise in a manner intended to increase sales.
Build customer relationships at the store level.
Communicate with the customer upon arrival at and departure from the store.
Perform other duties as necessary.
