About The Position

The Merchandiser presents products to attract consumers at customer retail locations and services and maintains multiple bulk accounts. The role involves merchandising approved products and packages using safe handling techniques and following quality guidelines. The Merchandiser follows plan sets and planograms and communicates with store management and cross-functional personnel. The position includes filling, rotating, and merchandising products on shelves and displays; moving products from backrooms; placing point-of-sale materials where permitted; maintaining Fastlane merchandisers and vendors; organizing backroom inventory and returns; and building business relationships with store personnel. The work environment may involve exposure to weather, coolers, and customer storage areas that may not be temperature controlled. The position requires repetitive lifting of up to 50 pounds and provides a company cell phone.

Requirements

Valid in-state driver's license.
Excellent driving history.
Proof of current insurance coverage effective from the first day of employment: liability and property damage coverage of at least $50,000 per person, $100,000 per accident, and $50,000 property damage, with a deductible of $500 or less.
Effective listening, speaking, and writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with customers who have varied needs and expectations.
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, including repetitive lifting of 50 pounds.
Ability to work reliably and independently with little daily supervision.
Critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

Fill, merchandise, and rotate products on displays and shelves according to procedures and special programs.
Physically move products from the backroom and place them on display.
Create and distribute point-of-sale materials, placing them on displays and shelves where permitted.
Fill and merchandise Fastlane merchandisers and vendors, and check vendors for proper operation.
Organize and maintain the backroom by stacking and arranging products by package and flavor.
Arrange returns of empty pallets and shells, damaged products, and out-of-date products to the branch.
Build business relationships with store personnel through routine follow-up on requests, proactive pricing, discussions of special programs and new opportunities, and upcoming activities.
