About The Position

The Merchandise Coordinator at Sierra is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards and helping Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, exceptional service, and a clean and organized store. It also involves coordinating truck deliveries, guiding merchandise flow to the sales floor, training and coaching Associates, and maintaining backroom organization and merchandising standards. The position supports store priorities, safety, compliance, and shrink-reduction goals. The role is located at Sierra Store 0216 in Rochester, Minnesota, and has a starting pay range of USD $16.00 to $16.50 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive internal and external customer experience and role-model exceptional customer service.
• Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
• Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
• Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles.
• Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
• Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to support efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
• Ensure Associates complete tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
• Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
• Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
• Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
• Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
• Give and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
• Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
