Merchandise Coordinator
About The Position
The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, helping Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, maintaining a clean and organized store, and modeling exceptional customer service. The Coordinator orchestrates truck delivery and prioritizes moving merchandise onto the sales floor, trains and mentors Associates, monitors team productivity, and coordinates priorities and the flow of goods with store management and the Coordinator on Duty. The role also maintains backroom organization, merchandising and signage standards, safety, and compliance with applicable store policies and programs. Other duties may be assigned. The position is located at HomeGoods Store 1173 in Franklin, Tennessee. Starting pay is $15.50 to $16.00 per hour; actual pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
Requirements

- 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
- Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
- Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
- Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
- Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
- Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
- Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and prioritize tasks as needed.
- Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
- Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
- Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
- Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
- Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates, and provide progress updates.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
- Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
