About The Position

The Merchandise Coordinator executes receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. The role supports an excellent customer experience through customer engagement, store cleanliness and organization, and exceptional customer service. Responsibilities include orchestrating truck delivery and prioritizing merchandise processing onto the sales floor; training and mentoring Associates; ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded; coordinating the flow of goods; monitoring team productivity; and organizing back stock for replenishment. The Coordinator also upholds merchandising, signage, backroom organization, cleanliness, recovery, recycling, and hazardous waste standards; communicates priorities and progress; partners with management on training; ensures compliance with labor laws and company policies; promotes credit and loyalty programs, shrink reduction, and safety; and performs other duties as assigned. This position is at Marshalls Store 1542 in Alpena, Michigan. The starting pay range is $15.00 to $15.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. A flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, is required.

Requirements

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Orchestrate truck delivery and prioritize processing merchandise onto the sales floor.
Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles.
Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
Ensure Associates complete tasks according to the store plan and reprioritize as needed.
Monitor team productivity and coach Associates as necessary.
Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment.
Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards in the backroom.
Ensure compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs.
Communicate priorities accurately and effectively with management and Associates and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
