Merchandise Associate (Temporary)
About The Position
The Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfied customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes customer service, operating the register, promoting credit and loyalty programs, processing merchandise, maintaining merchandising standards, and supporting store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink reduction efforts. The associate also follows applicable labor laws, policies, and procedures and performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
- Role model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
- Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
- Promote credit and loyalty programs.
- Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
- Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participate in maintaining and cleaning the entire store.
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
- Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
