About The Position

The Temporary Merchandise Associate at HomeGoods is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store. The associate follows operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs.

The role includes processing customer purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, preparing merchandise for the sales floor, and participating in store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. The associate supports a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect, and provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback. Other duties may be assigned.

The listed starting pay range is $12.75 to $13.25 per hour. Actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. The position is at HomeGoods Store 0231, 1660 Montgomery Highway, Hoover, Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and embodying customer experience principles.
• Model established customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
• Promote credit and loyalty programs.
• Follow the merchandising philosophy and established merchandising procedures and standards.
• Process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards on the sales floor and help maintain the cleanliness of the entire store.
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
• Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
• Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
