About The Position

The Mental Health Worker supports inpatient psychiatric care for children and adolescents under the direction and supervision of an RN, LVN, or Charge RN. The worker assists licensed nursing staff with providing and documenting patient care, including help with activities of daily living. The role supports unit operations, helps maintain a safe and clean environment for patients, visitors, and coworkers, and contributes to the interdisciplinary care team by communicating pertinent patient information to the supervising RN. Duties also include assigned clerical tasks and basic nursing care for adult and geriatric patients. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with Nursing Structure Standards, hospital and nursing policies, and applicable state regulatory and accrediting requirements.

This is a full-time, night-shift position at Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical in Aurora, Illinois, with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. A sign-on bonus of $3,000 is available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply and are discussed during the interview process. The estimated compensation range, including wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $16.08 to $23.30. The starting compensation is determined based on factors including skills, applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.

Requirements

• If working as a CNA, hold a current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant license issued by the state.
• If not a CNA, a minimum of one year of experience working as a Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting is preferred.
• Obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current certification.

Nice To Haves

• One year of prior mental health experience.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology.
• Experience working as a Mental Health Worker in a hospital setting if not a CNA.

Responsibilities
