Mental Health Technician
About The Position
Clementine NorthShore is a residential treatment program in Northport, New York, serving adolescents seeking treatment for anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, or exercise addiction. The program supports adolescents and their families through recovery, helping clients build healthy skills and live in ways that reflect their individuality, while involving families as partners in the recovery process. The part-time Mental Health Technician/Recovery Coach supports clients throughout their recovery journey and provides support consistent with each client’s treatment plan. The role includes helping clients build healthy connections in the treatment milieu, assisting with food preparation and meal supervision, participating in therapeutic groups, conducting rounds and observations, and occasionally driving clients to off-site appointments and activities. The position is scheduled for Tuesdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Compensation is $17–$22 per hour.
Requirements
- At least two years of post-high-school education.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license with a safe driving history.
- Good communication and client relations skills.
- Service orientation and flexibility.
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- At least one year of experience in a mental or behavioral health setting is highly desired and required in some states.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology preferred.

Responsibilities
- Integrate and support clients through their recovery journey.
- Provide support and intervention consistent with each client’s treatment plan.
- Engage clients in developing healthy and appropriate connections with other clients in the milieu and with the team.
- Assist with food preparation and set-up; model and supervise client meals and snacks.
- Gain exposure to therapeutic groups and develop core skills to promote clinical growth.
- Conduct rounds and provide observations.
- Occasionally drive clients off-site for appointments and activities.
