About The Position
As a Licensed Mental Health Professional working in a correctional facility, you provide mental health services and care to incarcerated patients. The role includes conducting intake evaluations, delivering therapeutic interventions and suicide prevention services, developing treatment plans, monitoring the clinical needs of patients on your caseload, training staff on mental health topics, and documenting findings in accordance with company and facility policies. This is a PRN position.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another related mental health discipline.
- One or more years of experience in a mental health treatment program.
- Unrestricted, current license in the state of practice, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, or Psychologist; must maintain licensure, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
- Must reside in the United States.

- Experience in a correctional or hospital setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct screening, assessments, and triage for inmates referred by security, healthcare staff, and other community sources, and recommend an appropriate level of care.
- Develop and recommend treatment plans; provide treatment services such as psychoeducational and transitional groups; and deliver suicide prevention interventions and management techniques.
- Respond to sick call requests, support medication adherence, and coordinate medication evaluations with prescribing providers.
- Provide crisis intervention, oversee the clinical needs of patients on the caseload, and participate in multidisciplinary treatment team and administrative meetings.
- Train staff on relevant mental health topics, document findings in patient health records, and ensure compliance with facility and company policies and procedures.
