About The Position

The Mental Health Professional provides mental health services to inmates in a correctional facility. The role includes conducting intake evaluations and screenings, offering therapeutic interventions and suicide prevention, developing treatment plans, and monitoring the clinical needs of patients on the caseload. The position also involves crisis intervention, coordination with prescribing providers, staff training, participation in multidisciplinary treatment and administrative meetings, and documentation in accordance with company and facility policies. This is a PRN position.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or another related mental health discipline.
At least one year of experience in a mental health treatment program.
Current, unrestricted license in the state of practice, such as LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, or Psychologist.
Maintain all licensures, certifications, and continuing education requirements.
Must reside in the United States.

Responsibilities

Conduct screenings, assessments, and triages for inmates referred by security, healthcare staff, and other community sources, and recommend appropriate levels of care.
Develop and recommend treatment plans; provide psychoeducational and transitional groups and other essential treatment services; and deliver suicide prevention interventions and management techniques.
Respond to sick call requests, support medication adherence, and coordinate medication evaluations with prescribing providers.
Provide crisis intervention and oversee the clinical needs of patients on the caseload.
Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team and administrative meetings.
Train staff on relevant mental health topics.
Document findings in patients’ health records and comply with facility and company policies and procedures.
