About The Position

Discovery Mood and Anxiety Program, part of Discovery Behavioral Health, provides evidence-based and inclusive behavioral healthcare for people experiencing mental health disorders. The Dietary Manager is a member of the mental health team who oversees dietary services and interacts with patients. Working collaboratively with the Registered Dietitian, the manager helps ensure high standards for nutrition and dietary services. The role includes managing diet technicians, grocery inventory and ordering, menu planning, group cooking, and addressing mealtime issues. The position is full-time, on-site in Crownsville, Maryland, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The listed pay range is $25.00–$32.00 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience working in health care or residential care.
• At least 2 years of experience in food service management.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree with an appropriate emphasis.
• Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (DTR) credential from the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
• Experience in mental health and/or eating disorder treatment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee food service operations, including inventory, ordering, receiving, food service, and the food budget.
• Train new diet technicians and other dietary staff.
• Provide quarterly kitchen in-service trainings for all staff.
• Evaluate food service providers to ensure quality products at cost-effective prices.
• Maintain compliance with Department of Health and Joint Commission Accreditation standards.
• Collaborate regularly with the Registered Dietitian on patients’ specific dietary needs.
• Travel to other facilities to provide dietary training when required.
• Manage menu planning and group cooking, grocery inventory and ordering, and help resolve mealtime issues.
