About The Position

Easterseals MORC is hiring a Mental Health Clinician to serve individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). The clinician assesses behavioral, emotional, social, environmental, relational, and physiological factors; evaluates vulnerabilities and medication effects; supports psychological diagnosis; and considers guardianship and decision-making ability. The role develops support plans, including therapy, skill acquisition, staff support, and prevention strategies, and provides individual, family, and group therapy.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.
• Michigan licensure as a Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP), Limited Licensed Master of Social Work (LLMSW), or Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC).
• Valid Michigan driver’s license and current auto insurance.
• At least two years of experience providing group and individual counseling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess functional abilities related to behaviors of concern, emotional and social needs, work and living environments, relationships with parents, staff, housemates, and family, and physiology.
• Analyze vulnerabilities and medication effects.
• Provide evaluations and facilitate psychological diagnosis.
• Provide information related to guardianship status and individuals’ ability to make decisions.
• Develop support plans, such as individual or group therapy, skill acquisition plans, staff support plans, and preventative strategies, to promote value, meaningful relationships and choices, and the acquisition and practice of new skills.
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy.
