Mental Health Clinician - IDD Behavioral Health

About The Position

Easterseals MORC is hiring a Mental Health Clinician for its IDD Behavioral Health team. The clinician performs assessments related to behaviors of concern, emotional and social needs, living and working environments, relationships, and physiology; evaluates and facilitates psychological diagnosis; and develops support plans. The role also provides individual, family, and group therapy and information related to guardianship status and decision-making ability.

Requirements

Master’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling.
Michigan licensure as a Temporary Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP), Limited Licensed Master of Social Work (LLMSW), or Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC).
Valid Michigan driver’s license and current auto insurance; must be maintained.

Nice To Haves

At least two years of experience providing group and individual counseling is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess functional ability in relation to behaviors of concern, emotional and social needs, the physical and social environments where consumers work and reside, relationships with parents, staff, housemates, and family, and individual physiology.
Analyze vulnerabilities and potential medication effects.
Provide evaluations and facilitate psychological diagnosis.
Provide information related to guardianship status and individuals’ ability to make decisions.
Develop support plans, including direct individual or group therapy, skill acquisition plans, staff support plans, and preventative strategies, to help individuals feel valued, establish meaningful relationships, make meaningful choices, and acquire and practice new skills.
Provide individual, family, and group therapy.
