About The Position

Under the supervision of management staff, the Mental Health Aide provides direct therapeutic services to residents of the program. Services include crisis intervention, medication management, and training in activities of daily living. The role is also responsible for maintaining the residence’s physical environment and carrying out responsibilities in accordance with hospital and residential policies and procedures.

The position is located in Brooklyn, NY.

Requirements

• Experience in mental health, substance abuse, and/or a residential setting.
• Basic writing skills.
• Verbal communication skills.
• Written communication skills.
• People skills.
• Conflict-resolution skills.
• High school diploma.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Database navigation skills.
• Ability to walk up and down stairs while carrying items.
• Ability to perform snow removal, restock supplies, sweep and mop, and perform cooking and cleaning duties.

Nice To Haves

• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
