Men's Shelter Custodian (Full-Time $17.00/hour)
About The Position
Catholic Charities of Onondaga County is hiring a full-time Custodian to help maintain the cleanliness, functionality, and overall upkeep of its men's shelter facility. The position is 35 hours per week and pays $17.00 per hour. The Custodian performs routine cleaning and sanitation, keeps shared areas and restrooms in good condition, handles minor maintenance and room setup, and works with colleagues and supervisors while following safety protocols. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience.
- Physical aptitude to perform cleaning duties, including lifting and relocating equipment.
- Valid New York State driver's license.
- New York State Child Abuse Registry clearance.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect surfaces throughout the facility.
- Empty and clean waste receptacles.
- Stock and sanitize restrooms.
- Maintain the appearance of shared spaces, including hallways and waiting rooms.
- Attend to minor maintenance tasks.
- Set up rooms for events.
- Follow safety protocols.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to support the overall upkeep of the facility.
