About The Position

The Membership Sales Associate promotes and sells BJ’s membership products, supporting acquisition, renewal, upgrades, cross-selling, and retention of BJ’s loyalty programs. The role also provides member service as a first point of contact for membership questions, credit card applications, general inquiries, merchandise returns and exchanges, product lookups, and pickups. Associates are expected to provide courteous, efficient service, resolve or escalate member concerns, and assist with Buy Online and Pick Up In Club orders. The position follows club policies and procedures, may include work in other departments, and requires regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Prior frontline/customer service or sales experience.

• Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Promote BJ’s value proposition for membership acquisition, retention, perks, and the member experience.
• Pitch membership programs to potential members and sell membership products to new and existing members.
• Work toward business-established sales benchmarks and goals.
• Understand BJ’s membership options and co-brand credit card.
• Serve as a first point of contact for membership and credit card applications, general questions, issues, returns, exchanges, product lookups, and pickups.
• Follow tax-exempt and resale membership policies and retention procedures, including monitoring renewals and tax-exempt/resale status.
• Resolve member concerns courteously and promptly, escalating issues to the PIC or MOD when necessary.
• Assist with Buy Online and Pick Up In Club (BOPIC) orders.
• Maintain club policies and procedures and support compliance.
• Work in other departments as needed and perform other assigned duties.
• Deliver member service in line with GOLD standards and help maintain a safe, positive, clean, organized, and well-stocked club environment.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
