About The Position

The Order Fulfillment Associate performs general warehouse and digital-order fulfillment activities for BJ’s Wholesale Club. The role includes pulling merchandise from a pick list, using a handheld RF scanner to verify merchandise and update locations, moving items from the sales floor to a staging area, and operating equipment. The associate supports digital initiatives including BOPIC, Curbside, Express Pay, and Ship from Club (SFC), and is responsible for completing and packaging orders accurately and on time while meeting productivity and service-level expectations.

The role also supports a safe, clean, organized, and member-focused club environment. Associates follow club policies, procedures, dress-code standards, and standard operating procedures; communicate inventory or equipment issues; coordinate replenishment; and handle returns, damaged goods, and spoiled products as directed. Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function. Other duties may be assigned, including work in other departments.

Requirements

• Previous order-pulling experience is preferred.
• Big-box or wholesale retail experience is preferred.
• Previous RF scanner experience is preferred.
• Meet OMNI productivity expectations, including service-level agreements, performance metrics, and goals.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Continuously lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; lifting and moving heavier or awkward objects over 50 pounds may be required with assistance.
• Be able to move about continuously on hard surfaces and frequently bend, climb, crawl, handle, pull, reach, and stoop to examine or scan merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Pull merchandise from pick lists and process member purchases in a fast, courteous, and friendly manner.
• Use a handheld RF scanner to pick orders, verify merchandise, and update merchandise locations.
• Move merchandise from the sales floor to the staging area.
• Communicate inventory and equipment problems, expired or short-dated items on pick lists, and merchandise replenishment needs.
• Work with the team to pull merchandise from the reserve area when possible to avoid sales-floor replenishment.
• Complete orders in a timely manner, meeting productivity requirements, service-level agreements, performance metrics, and deadlines.
• Follow operational efficiencies, processes, productivity standards, and established SOPs for BOPIC, Curbside, and Ship from Club.
• Take responsibility for individual performance and work with club leadership when performance metrics are not met.
• Securely package orders according to standard operating procedures.
• Keep the SFC area neat, clean, and organized, including removing trash and cardboard.
• Handle damaged goods and spoiled products in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Process returns to the club and determine whether to handle them through DDR or the Membership desk.
• Maintain club policies and procedures, including proper dress-code standards.
• Deliver service excellence, address and de-escalate member concerns, and help maintain a safe and positive environment.
• Work collaboratively to meet GOLD member and club standards and maintain a clean, organized environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
