Member Service Representative (30 hrs a week with full benefits)

About The Position

The Member Service Representative supports credit union members by opening accounts, providing guidance on lending opportunities, educating members about products and services, and processing financial transactions accurately and efficiently. The role is responsible for creating a positive member experience during each branch interaction and helping grow branch business through referrals, community involvement, and increased use of Deseret First products and services. Other duties may be assigned. This is a 30-hour-per-week position with benefits. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., and rotating Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Six months of experience working with the general public.
Energetic, friendly, and professional demeanor.
Passion for delivering an exceptional member experience.
Empathy and a proactive approach.
Ability to think creatively and solve problems.
Aptitude for discussing and recommending financial products and solutions.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Oral and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask.
Microsoft Office Suite skills and strong ability to learn new software programs.

Responsibilities

Open new accounts and provide support and guidance with lending opportunities.
Educate members about and propose credit union products and services that address their financial needs.
Process members’ financial transactions accurately and efficiently, including transferring money to member accounts, posting transactions, and maintaining member records.
Own the member experience in the branch during each interaction and provide the best possible Deseret First experience.
Look for opportunities to build branch business through member referrals, community involvement, and increasing members’ use of Deseret First products and services.
Perform other duties as assigned.
