About The Position

The Ladle Wall Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ladle wall. The role manages ladle refractory, coordinates with teams involved in ladle service and repair, ensures ladles are safe and ready for use, masters refractory procedures, and maintains the refractory area. Safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards must be upheld at all times.

Requirements

• Previous ladle refractory experience.
• Two years of steel mill experience.
• Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Nice To Haves

• A proven track record as a team player.
• Mobile equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage all ladle refractory.
• Coordinate with the LMF team, Ladle Cranes, EAF team, and Caster team on in-service ladles.
• Coordinate with the Bricking team on ladles.
• Ensure ladles are in good, safe working order for use in the shop.
• Review and master all refractory procedures.
• Perform maintenance responsibilities in the refractory area.
• Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
