About The Position

D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., was founded in 1978 and is a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. It is engaged in the construction and sale of high quality homes designed principally for the entry-level and first time move-up markets. The Company also provides mortgage financing and title services for homebuyers through its mortgage and title subsidiaries. D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Meeting and Travel Coordinator for their Corporate Purchasing Department. The right candidate will report to the Corporate Meeting Planner. This individual is responsible for assisting with all aspects of meeting and travel coordination, in addition to collaborating with and supporting the Purchasing team. Using discretion when working with confidential information concerning the company, executive management and employees is a must.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to work well with all levels of internal management, staff and external vendors.
  • Discretion when working with confidential information concerning the company, executive management and employees

Responsibilities

  • Assist with internal meeting and event coordination: Researching hotel options, negotiating contracts, creating rooming lists, menus, event set-up and A/V requirements.
  • Execution of travel planning services and coordination of logistical details for internal employees.
  • Travel to various locations both domestic and abroad to assist with the execution of meetings and events.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with the travelers, meeting attendees and all levels of management.
  • Keep an updated directory of company negotiated rates for hotels, airfares and accommodations.
  • Update the company Travel Sharepoint site with current meeting and travel information.
  • Utilize on-line booking tool (such as Orbitz for Business or ETC Travel Gateway) and the internet to reserve and book requested travel accommodations.
  • Add new users in on-line booking tool and assist with training for new employees.
  • Ensure travel needs are met within the constraints of the company’s travel policy.
  • Reconcile and process invoices for travel and events.
  • Responsible for reception and telephone duties, including signing for packages
  • Perform general clerical assistance
  • Other duties as assigned
