About The Position

The Medium Voltage Distribution Systems Engineer works in the Innovation Engineering department at Evolution Well Services (EVO), designing and engineering medium-voltage distribution systems for the company’s hydraulic fracturing fleet operations. The systems include 2.4 kV, 4.16 kV, and 13.8 kV equipment, switchgear, transformers, cabling, and protection systems. The role focuses on delivering safe, reliable, high-quality designs efficiently and within budget, while building productive working relationships with cross-functional teams, manufacturers, and vendors. The engineer performs power-system studies, develops relay coordination and settings, specifies medium-voltage components, and prepares and reviews electrical drawings and design documentation. The position also supports equipment testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, electrical safety programs, root-cause investigations, and operations support. The engineer provides technical guidance to engineering staff and contributes to continuous improvement. The role is based at the company’s corporate office in The Woodlands, Texas, with travel of 15%–25% and work at company or client sites as needed. The position requires a minimum four-year electrical engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, or an equivalent combination of education, specialized training, and relevant professional experience, along with at least seven years of medium-voltage power-systems design and engineering experience. A Professional Engineer license is preferred. The role is full-time, salary exempt, and reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager.
