About The Position

Administers medication to assigned residents according to professional standards, facility policy and physician orders, ensuring the correct medication/dosage is given to the right resident, at the right time, and by the right route. The medication is signed for as soon as it is passed. The response to medication is noted, reported, and charted. The effectiveness of medication is noted and charted. The medication cart is cleaned and stocked daily with paper supplies. Medication orders are picked up and medication is ordered from the pharmacy and delivered in a timely manner. Provides assistance to Meadowview Care Assistants as needed. Produces timely, accurate and legally compliant documentation of resident status, changes and observations in resident chart and communications book. Provides continual monitoring of residents' physical, social, and mental statuses. Promptly reports variance or change in status to Residential Services Administrator and rest of care team. Assesses/reassesses residents' needs and recommends appropriate care, emphasizing resident preferences and habits. Completes special projects/tasks in support of effective department functioning as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • current NYS Med Tech Certification
  • 2 years of professional nursing experience is required
