About The Position

The Medication Assistant provides resident care services in the Assisted Living area under the supervision of the Resident Care Director (RCD). The role includes assisting residents with self-administration of medication in accordance with state guidelines and scheduled duties, and helping maintain a positive physical and social environment.

Medication Technicians are expected to interact with residents, associates, and visitors in a friendly, service-oriented manner; provide assistance with activities of daily living; communicate with Resident Services associates to support continuity of care; and participate in or lead resident activities as needed. The role also includes meeting customer service standards and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess current Medication Training certification.
• Must have a positive criminal background screening.
• Associates are subject to the company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience with senior adults is highly preferred.
• May be a Licensed or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA), depending on state requirements; if licensed or certified, must be in good standing with the state licensing or certifying agency.
• CPR and first aid certification preferred or required by the state.
• Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with medications as allowed under state guidelines.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, positioning, transfers, mobility, and incontinence care.
• Communicate daily with Resident Services associates to help ensure continuity of care and services.
• Participate in resident activities and lead activities as needed.
• Interact with residents, associates, and visitors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Meet customer service standards, prioritizing resident satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
