About The Position

Spring Arbor of Kinston is hiring a part-time Medication Technician (also described as a Medication Assistant) to provide care to residents in its Assisted Living area. The role assists residents with self-administration of medication in accordance with state guidelines and provides assistance with activities of daily living. The Medication Assistant works under the supervision of the Resident Care Director and coordinates daily with Resident Services associates to support continuity of care and maintain a positive physical and social environment. The listed shift is 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess current Medication Training certification.
• Must have a positive criminal background screening.
• Must adhere to the company's Drug Free Workplace policy.
• May need to be a Licensed or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA), depending on state requirements; any license or certification held must be in good standing with the state agency.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience with senior adults is highly preferred.
• CPR and first aid certification is preferred or may be required by the state.
• Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with medications as allowed under state guidelines.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, positioning, transfers, mobility, and incontinence care.
• Maintain daily communication with Resident Services associates to support continuity of care and services.
• Participate in resident activities and lead activities as needed.
• Interact with residents, associates, and visitors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Meet customer service standards and prioritize resident satisfaction.
• Perform other assigned job duties.
