About The Position

The Medication Assistant provides resident care services to residents in the Assisted Living area under the supervision of the Resident Care Director (RCD). The role assists residents with self-administration of medication in accordance with State guidelines and scheduled duties, while helping maintain a positive physical and social environment.

The Medication Assistant also supports activities of daily living, communicates with Resident Services associates to maintain continuity of care, and participates in resident activities. Associates are expected to provide friendly, courteous, service-oriented care to residents, coworkers, and visitors.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess current Medication Training certification.
• Must have a positive criminal background screening.
• Must adhere to the Company's Drug Free Workplace policy; associates are subject to the policy.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience with senior adults is highly preferred.
• May be a Licensed or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant (NA), depending on state requirements; if licensed or certified, must be in good standing with the state licensing or certifying agency.
• CPR and first aid certification preferred, or required by the State.
• Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with self-administering medications as allowed under State guidelines.
• Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, positioning, transfers, mobility, and incontinence care.
• Communicate daily with Resident Services associates to ensure continuity of resident care and services.
• Participate in resident activities and lead activities as needed.
• Provide friendly, helpful, courteous service, prioritizing resident satisfaction.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
