Part-Time Medication Technician

About The Position

Spring Arbor of Cary is hiring a part-time Medication Technician (also referred to as a Medication Assistant or Med Tech) to provide medication assistance and resident care in the Assisted Living area. The role supports residents with self-administration of medication as allowed under state guidelines and provides assistance with activities of daily living, under the supervision of the Resident Care Director (RCD). The Medication Technician also helps maintain a positive physical and social environment and works with Resident Services associates to support continuity of care.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Current Medication Training certification is required.
Must pass a criminal background screening.
Must comply with the company’s drug-free workplace policy.
At least one year of experience with senior adults is highly preferred.

Nice To Haves

CNA or NA license or certification in good standing, depending on state requirements.
CPR and First Aid certification, preferred or as required by the state.
Previous experience with computerized resident documentation systems.

Responsibilities

Approach residents, associates, and visitors in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
Assist residents with medications as allowed under state guidelines.
Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, positioning, transfers, mobility, and incontinence care.
Maintain daily communication and work closely with Resident Services associates to ensure continuity of care and services.
Participate in resident activities and lead activities as needed.
Provide friendly, helpful, and courteous service, prioritizing resident satisfaction.
Perform other assigned job duties.
