Medication Assistant, Assisted Living - Part-Time
About The Position
The Medication Assistant supports residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care by maintaining, ordering, and assisting with medication needs; transcribing and documenting in the Medication Assistance Record; and assisting with activities of daily living and basic care. The role also includes taking vital signs, providing first aid and wound care, communicating with outside health care professionals as necessary, transporting residents within the community, and responding promptly and safely to emergencies, requests, and environmental hazards. This is a part-time position scheduled from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays. Compensation is $19.50–$22.95 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meet all state educational requirements for the position.
Nice To Haves
- CPR certification preferred.
- Experience working with an elderly population preferred.
- A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
- Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
- Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living.
- Take vital signs and provide first aid and wound care.
- Communicate with outside health care professionals as necessary.
- Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
- Respond to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
