About The Position

The Medication Assistant supports residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care by maintaining, ordering, and assisting with medication needs. The role also involves documenting medication information, helping with daily living and basic care needs, transporting residents within the community, and responding promptly and safely to emergencies, requests, and environmental hazards. The schedule is part-time, 6 a.m.–2 p.m. on Sundays and Mondays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet all state educational requirements for the position.

Nice To Haves

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience working with an elderly population is preferred.
• A calm, helpful, and respectful countenance is appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, order, and assist residents with medication needs.
• Transcribe and document information in the Medication Assistance Record.
• Assist residents in Assisted Living and potentially Memory Care with activities of daily living, vital signs, first aid, wound care, and communication with outside health care professionals as necessary.
• Transport residents within the community to activities, other departments, or dining.
• Respond to emergency calls, resident and visitor requests, and environmental hazards in a timely, appropriate, and safe manner.
