About The Position

Avenues Recovery Center is hiring a Registered Medication Aide (RMA) for its inpatient residential location in Norfolk, Virginia. The Medication Aide provides timely medical care to help stabilize clients and support their participation in treatment, while assisting with nursing shift duties and coordinating care with medical and clinical teams.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Valid licensure to serve as a Registered Medication Aide (RMA) in the state.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Collaborative, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of substance use and its biopsychosocial consequences.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality, timely medical care to stabilize clients and enable them to engage fully in treatment.
• Assist with nursing shift duties, including taking vital signs, conducting drug screens, medication management, charting, and reporting.
• Collaborate with medical and clinical teams to coordinate care.
• Manage, order, and restock medical supplies as needed.
• Schedule medical appointments and arrange aftercare providers for clients after discharge.
• Assist with pharmacy needs and prescription authorizations.
