About The Position

At Sunrise Senior Living, the Medication Aide/Med Tech helps champion quality of life for seniors by ensuring residents receive medications and treatments safely, accurately, and with dignity. The role is critical to preventing medication errors, identifying health changes early, and protecting resident safety through attention to detail and regulatory compliance.

The position administers medications and treatments according to physician orders, documents care in medication and treatment administration records, observes residents, and promptly reports refusals or concerns. It also involves maintaining medication supplies and following infection control and safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be age 18 or older.
• Medication Administration certification.
• CPR certification.
• First Aid certification.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Senior care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Follow the Six Rights of Medication Administration.
• Document accurately and in real time in MAR/TAR.
• Observe residents during and after medication passes.
• Monitor symptoms and administer medications as ordered for symptom relief.
• Promptly report medication refusals or concerns.
• Complete narcotic counts according to policy.
• Maintain clean, organized medication carts and rooms.
• Follow infection control and safety standards.
• Help prevent medication errors, identify health changes early, and protect resident safety through attention to detail and regulatory compliance.
