About The Position

As a Charge Nurse at CHI St Vincent, you will oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your acute care experience will support the nursing team. You will advocate for fellow nurses and help them reach their potential in alignment with the department’s operational goals and objectives. The role requires accountability, confidence, strong communication in individual and group settings, and comfort holding difficult conversations related to staff and unit performance. CHI St. Vincent North is a 69-bed facility with a small-town atmosphere and a strong neuro and cardiac focus. Requirements

Registered Nurse license in Arkansas upon hire.
Basic Life Support (CPR) within 30 days.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing; admission to a BSN program within one year or completion of a bachelor’s degree within two years of assuming the position.
Participation in the Nursing Career Advancement Program.
Two years of recent nursing experience in the area of specialty.
One year of charge or management experience.

Responsibilities

Serve as both a leader and teammate.
Ensure direct reports and the department are positioned to deliver the best possible patient care.
Maintain a visible, engaged presence on the floor, connecting with nurses, patients, and families.
Attend leadership meetings to learn about initiatives and improvement opportunities, then share relevant information with the team.
Monitor department productivity and efficiency.
Mentor team members, including assistant nurse managers and charge nurses, by sharing knowledge and confidence.
