About The Position

NiteLines USA, established in 1994, is a dynamic and growing healthcare organization that provides contract support services to government institutions and medical treatment facilities. They are seeking dedicated professionals to join their team, emphasizing integrity, respect, accountability, and collaboration. This role is for a Certified Medical Assistant to perform duties consistent with a VA Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) at the VA Medical Center Dayton, OH. The primary workload involves supporting medical care provided by staff healthcare providers through written or verbal orders.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Six months experience of clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position.
  • One year above high school or equivalent combination of experience and education are qualifying for entry level for which both education and experience are acceptable.
  • To be creditable, education completed outside the U.S. must have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in the interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education must have been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. programs.
  • Provide the curriculum vitae including three (3) references.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties consistent with those of VA Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) personnel in similar roles.
  • Maintain and deliver comprehensive scheduling services within the personnel and equipment capabilities of the medical center, ensuring quality and timely documentation of care and procedures.
  • Adhere to administrative guidelines from: The Joint Commission.
  • Adhere to national policy and scheduler responsibilities as stated in VHA national directives, SOPs and guidebooks.
  • Comply with any VISN and/or local facility standard operating procedures.
  • Comply with confidentiality and privacy laws, regulations and policies.
  • Maintain strict safety and infection control procedures.
  • Complete all mandatory training requirements.
  • Complete Integrated Scheduling System (ISS) and Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) (ORACLE) computer-based training and classroom training.
  • Use assigned computer systems to perform required tasks.
  • Verifies Veteran eligibility for care, demographic and insurance information and updates information in ISS/Oracle and in Insurance Capture Buffer (ICB).
  • Schedules Veteran in accordance to return to clinic (RTC) orders and VA scheduling guidelines and SOPs.
  • Monitors daily consults utilizing consult tracking manager (CTM) and consult toolbox (CTB).
  • Documents all contact attempts in CTB.
  • Schedule patients in accordance with VA scheduling guidelines and SOPs.
  • Monitors and schedules Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) Scheduling Enhancements (VSE) Open Requests.
  • Monitors and completes RTC orders and schedules patients in accordance with VA policy and SOPs.
  • Monitors and schedules recall appointment in accordance with VA policy and SOPs.
  • Maintain communication with internal customers; Decedent Affairs, Travel, Release of Information (ROI) and Enrollment and Eligibility offices.
  • Operates copiers, scanners and business equipment.
  • Complete all assigned work.
