About The Position

Oak Street Health Clinical Informatics Specialists, also called Medical Scribes, support primary care providers as clinical documentation assistants. Each Scribe is paired with one provider and joins them in the exam room, attends team huddles, and prepares post-visit summaries to support accurate, specific, and timely documentation. Scribes receive extensive training in Oak Street Health’s value-based care model, ICD-10 and CPT coding, electronic medical records, and population health. Their work helps the interdisciplinary team identify and close care gaps, support preventive measures for chronic conditions, and provide positive patient experiences. This is a paid, full-time, in-person position intended to provide substantial clinical exposure, particularly for people on a pre-med or healthcare administration track. It offers experience with chronic disease management and patient-care workflows before further professional healthcare study. Candidates should expect to commit at least one year, with two or more years preferred. This is not a hands-on patient care role. The position is based at the clinic in Greensboro, North Carolina, and requires approximately 40–45 hours per week with predictable hours and break times.
