About The Position

Downriver Medical Associates is hiring a full-time Medical Scribe to support a provider at its off-site inpatient facility in Detroit. The role involves documenting patient encounters and providing clinical administrative support, including managing messages, the physician’s in-basket, medication requests and orders. Some weekends are required. The ideal candidate is reliable, communicates well, and can think critically. Benefits are available after 90 days of employment.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Scribe.
Must be able to pass a drug screen.
Must be reliable, able to think critically, and have excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

Document physician-dictated patient history, physical examination, family history, social history, and past medical history.
Document procedures, lab results, radiographic impressions dictated by the supervising physician, and other information related to the patient encounter.
Answer messages and monitor the physician’s in-basket.
Send medications and process refills.
Send orders requested by the practitioner.
