About The Position

The Medical Scheduler II supports patient care and operational reliability by coordinating appointments, procedures, and diagnostic tests to ensure efficient patient access and optimal use of clinical resources. The role communicates with patients and clinical teams, maintains accurate scheduling records, and upholds regulatory and confidentiality standards. The employee also performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience in a medical office, healthcare scheduling, or a related administrative role.
• Proficiency with scheduling software and electronic health records (EHR).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in business, healthcare administration, or a related field.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly Epic.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate appointments, procedures, and diagnostic tests.
• Communicate with patients and clinical teams.
• Maintain accurate scheduling records.
• Review patient accounts for quality and confirmation and update all aspects of a patient account.
• Assist patients with Financial Assistance Forms, HCAP Applications, and Medicaid Applications, if applicable.
• Demonstrate knowledge of compliance- or legally required registration forms, consents, literature, and documents.
• Maintain consistent hand hygiene practices.
• Uphold regulatory and confidentiality standards, including HIPAA requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
