About The Position

Refocus is seeking a bilingual Spanish Medical Receptionist to serve as the welcoming first point of contact for a busy, established multi-specialty ophthalmology practice. This in-person role supports an efficient, positive patient experience through front-desk service, appointment coordination, communication, record maintenance, and payment and insurance tasks. The position offers up to 40 hours per week, does not require weekend work, and the practice closes early on Fridays. Travel to multiple locations may be required if applicable; evening and weekend rotations may vary by practice.

Requirements

Bilingual Spanish capability, as indicated by the position title.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in data entry and computer skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Proven experience in a medical administrative role, including knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to travel to multiple locations if applicable.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in ophthalmology.
Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Responsibilities

Greet patients and manage check-ins and check-outs, answering questions with clarity and compassion.
Schedule appointments and coordinate provider schedules to support smooth workflows.
Answer calls, manage messages, verify patient information, and maintain accurate records.
Collect co-pays, verify insurance eligibility, and ensure accurate daily financial reporting.
Address patient concerns, escalate issues as needed, and support a positive patient experience.
Collaborate with providers, clinical and administrative staff, and external partners.
Handle work in a high-volume practice.
