About The Position

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Medical Receptionist for its Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep practice in Oakland. The receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, helping provide a positive patient experience while supporting efficient office operations and patient care. The role involves welcoming patients, handling check-in and registration, scheduling, phone and message support, payment collection, patient communications and records, and coordination with providers and clinical staff. Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or be between ages 15 and 17 with a valid work permit from their high school.
One to two years of experience in a medical or physician office or customer service environment is preferred.

Nice To Haves

Coursework in insurance/billing, medical practice education, or seminars is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and visitors professionally and compassionately.
Check patients in and verify registration and insurance information.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
Assist with patient communications, paperwork, and MyChart support.
Maintain patient records and support day-to-day office operations.
Partner with providers and clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient experience.
