About The Position

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a customer-focused Medical Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The role supports a positive patient experience, efficient office operations, and exceptional patient care. The Medical Receptionist works with providers and clinical staff and handles patient registration, scheduling, communications, payments, records, and day-to-day office support. The position also oversees daily work queues, serves as a collections advocate, and handles moderate billing issues with patients.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One to two years of experience in a medical or physician office or customer service environment is preferred.

Nice To Haves

Coursework in insurance or billing, medical practice education, or seminars is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and visitors with professionalism and compassion.
Check patients in and verify registration and insurance information.
Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments.
Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriately.
Collect payments and support accurate billing processes.
Assist with patient communications, paperwork, and MyChart support.
Maintain patient records and support day-to-day office operations.
Partner with providers and clinical staff to ensure a smooth patient experience.
Oversee daily work queues.
Serve as a collections advocate.
Handle moderate billing issues with patients.
