About The Position

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) welcomes incoming patients at CityMD and provides exemplary customer service. The role registers patients, coordinates with the rest of the team to support timely patient turnaround, responds to questions and concerns with urgency and kindness in person and by telephone, and completes paperwork associated with patient registration.

Requirements

High school degree or GED.
A happy, welcoming, can-do attitude with patients and coworkers.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Detail-oriented and a team player.
Computer proficiency and superior keyboarding skills, approximately 55 words per minute.
Flexible and adaptable in a continuously evolving environment.
Passion for helping others in a healthcare environment.
Ability to interact effectively with physicians, patients, and other staff members.
Bilingual language skills, required or preferred depending on site location.
Ability to sit and stand for periods of time.
Ability to perform heavy computer use.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a high-volume or high-intensity service industry, such as hospitality, a restaurant, a hospital, a medical office, or retail.

Responsibilities

Greet and welcome patients.
Organize and coordinate patient intake and other appointments.
Accurately enter and update patient information in the system.
Assist patients with completing paperwork when necessary.
Scan, update, and file medical records.
Answer phone calls and respond to questions promptly and politely.
Process medical insurance information, verify patient eligibility, and address insurance questions, liaising with the Billing department as appropriate.
Handle cash and co-payments accurately and responsibly.
Provide outstanding customer service to every patient.
Inform the site manager or assistant site manager about waiting-room wait times, patient inquiries, and related matters.
