Medical Practice Manager

UrrlyHunterdon, NJ
$90,000 - $110,000Onsite

About The Position

This is an opportunity to lead a busy on-site ENT/allergy specialty practice in Hunterdon, NJ with 7 physicians and a 37-person team. The role involves owning the daily operating rhythm of the office, the financial and performance picture of the practice, and process improvements that help clinical and clerical teams work better together, with the support of a growing physician-led specialty-care platform. This is not a first-time manager role; the ideal candidate has already led a medical practice and is ready to take the next step in owning the business rhythm of the office, partnering effectively with physicians, and creating a stronger operating model for both clinical and clerical teams. The environment is active, patient-centered, and sometimes fast-moving, requiring someone who can balance urgent daily needs with longer-term work on workflows, staffing, financial performance, compliance, patient experience, and team communication.

Requirements

  • Already managed a medical practice and ready for the next step in scope and ownership.
  • 5+ years of healthcare management or progressive healthcare leadership experience, ideally in a physician practice or ambulatory specialty setting.
  • Understanding of the financial side of practice management, including labor, supplies, volume, staffing, scheduling, and expense control.
  • Strong grasp of practice operations, patient flow, revenue cycle partnership, compliance expectations, and provider support.
  • Comfortable leading through busy, chaotic days without losing sight of bigger operational priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while staying close to daily office operations.
  • Experience improving practice processes, not just maintaining what already exists.
  • Ability to build credibility with physicians, clinical staff, clerical staff, and senior operational leaders.
  • Hands-on, accountable, collaborative, and able to create order without a fully built playbook.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership experience in an ENT, allergy, audiology, or other specialty medical practice.
  • Experience supporting a practice with multiple physicians and a sizable team.
  • Background improving collaboration between front-office and clinical teams.
  • Experience using practice data to guide staffing, scheduling, expense, access, and workflow decisions.
  • Familiarity with EHR and practice management software.
  • A bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations for a 37-person on-site ENT/allergy specialty practice, including physicians and team members across clinical and clerical functions.
  • Keep the practice running smoothly through busy clinic days, competing priorities, staffing needs, patient-flow challenges, and physician requests.
  • Maintain strong operating discipline across scheduling, coverage, office workflows, supplies, communication, service expectations, and practice policies.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical improvements that make the practice more consistent, efficient, and collaborative.
  • Develop, reinforce, and improve standardized procedures so the practice operates with clarity and consistency.
  • Own the financial operating picture of the practice, evaluating labor, supplies, volume, staffing patterns, overtime, scheduling, and spending to support financial success.
  • Use data, reports, and performance metrics to spot trends, make recommendations, and take action that improves practice performance.
  • Balance patient access, physician productivity, team capacity, and cost management in daily decisions.
  • Partner with revenue cycle, billing, and operational leaders to support strong financial processes and follow-through.
  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary team through clear expectations, accountability, coaching, training, and follow-through.
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and supervise practice staff across front-office, clerical, clinical, and provider-support functions.
  • Build stronger collaboration between clerical and clinical staff, especially where handoffs, communication, or process gaps create friction.
  • Navigate interpersonal dynamics with professionalism, good judgment, and the ability to bring people toward a shared solution.
  • Help the practice operate as one team while recognizing the distinct needs of front-office, clinical, and physician stakeholders.
  • Work effectively with experienced physicians, including strong personalities and high expectations.
  • Serve as a trusted operational partner who can listen, problem-solve, communicate clearly, and follow through.
  • Translate physician and team feedback into practical operational improvements while maintaining standards and accountability.
  • Keep patient experience, access, and service quality at the center of operational decisions.
  • Address patient feedback and concerns with professionalism and a practical problem-solving mindset.
  • Support compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA, OSHA, safety protocols, and internal policies.
  • Use EHR and practice management systems to support scheduling, workflows, reporting, and operational visibility.
  • Coordinate with compliance, billing, revenue cycle, and other support teams to keep practice operations aligned.

Benefits

  • Growing specialty-care organization that is building stronger operating systems while preserving the local identity and physician leadership that make individual practices successful.
  • Balance of local ownership, visible impact, and broader organizational support.
  • Energized by leading teams, improving workflows, partnering with physicians, supporting a strong patient experience, and owning the business performance of a busy medical practice.
  • Equal opportunity employer committed to a compassionate, collaborative, and inclusive workplace.
  • Employment decisions are based on merit, qualifications, and business needs, without regard to protected status.
  • Reasonable accommodations are available during the application process.
